Activity

The Brittany Spaniel needs a medium sized yard to run around in as they have plenty of energy. They also have great stamina and needs regular exercise. They do best in a home that has an active owner.

Care

Brittany Spaniels are light shedders but do need regular brushings to keep their coats from getting matted. A monthly bath is recommended. If they’re being shown, they may need some trimming.

The Brittany Spaniel is very fond of water. They’re friendly and loyal as companions and thrive in country settings. They were originally bred to hunt and they have natural protective instincts. They’re very popular as companions.

Coat

The Brittany Spaniel has a feathered and silky coat of medium length and it doesn’t need a lot of maintenance. The coat colors are Liver and White, Orange and White, Black and White, Black Tri-color and Liver Tri-color.

Temperament

Brittany Spaniels are happy and alert with a great presence. They’re easy to handle and affectionate, making them ideal house pets when provided with the right care and exercise so he stays happy. These dogs need a gentle but firm hand as they’re somewhat hyperactive.

Training

The Brittany Spaniel is a rather hyperactive breed and can easily get bored. They need a firm hand and consistent training to keep both owner and spaniel happy. This is a free thinking breed that responds well in retrieving or hunting sports and train easily.
